The Oak Ridge Playhouse will have a Maskapalooza! fundraiser on Saturday, March 9.
It’s a fan favorite, a press release said.
“Dress to impress, don a creative mask, sample delectable heavy hors d’oeuvres, take home unique auction items, and dance the night away to the tunes of DJ Luther Simmons,” the press release said.
The party starts at 6 p.m. March 9 in Calhoun’s Banquet Hall in Oak Ridge.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to take home the Best of Maskapalooza! prize for the best mask, as judged by fellow party goers,” the press release said. “Those without a mask can purchase one at the event.
“There will be both silent and live auctions conducted by the infamous Bear Stephensen, including a weekend getaway, pottery, themed gift baskets, wall mounted masks created by Jim Dodson’s Jefferson Middle School art class, and more.”
Gene Patterson, a former television reporter and news anchor in Knoxville, will host the fundraiser. Patterson now works in community and stakeholder relations at Consolidated Nuclear Security, which manages and operates the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge.
Tickets for the Playhouse fundraiser are $75 each and will go on sale February 12. You can purchase them online at www.orplayhouse.com or by calling the Box Office from noon-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday at (865) 482-4877.
