Wade Creswell, who was elected Roane County executive this year, will talk to the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge on Tuesday.
Creswell’s presentation is scheduled to start at noon Tuesday, November 15, in person at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Church Social Hall. It will also be available on Zoom. A link for Zoom access will be distributed later.
It’s a Lunch with the League hosted by the League of Women Voters.
“Please bring your own lunch to our November 15 and December 6 sessions,” a press release said. “Lunches from The Soup Kitchen will be available beginning in 2023.”
Creswell took office as the Roane County executive on September 1, 2022, the press release said. As a third-generation Roane County resident, he was raised in Kingston, graduated from Roane County High School in 1992, and received his associate degree from Roane State Community College, his bachelor of science degree from East Tennessee State University, and his master of business administration degree from the University of Tennessee.
After returning home from ETSU, he worked at Roane Medical Center as a registered nurse in critical and emergency care. That led to a 25-year career of opportunities in leadership and management positions at Michael Dunn Center, the Roane Alliance, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, the press release said. He previously served on Kingston City Council from 2003-07.
While serving as the president and chief executive officer of the Roane Alliance, Roane County added more than 700 industrial jobs and grew the membership of the Roane Chamber by more than 100 members, the press release said. He built strong working relationships in Oak Ridge with officials at the U.S. Department of Energy, with federal contractors, and city officials.
