Oak Ridge crews repaired a water main break at the corner of Rutgers Avenue and Oak Ridge Turnpike, the city said last week.
Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, the city said Oak Ridge Public Works crews were shutting valves to isolate the break. Crews could be repairing the main for the next several hours, the city said. Water was cut off for the Jimmy Johns and Home Federal Bank on the Oak Ridge Turnpike.
“People living in the area may notice discolored water and changes in water pressure during this time,” the city said. “We apologize for any inconvenience the outage may cause and appreciate your patience.”
Friday morning, the city said the water main break along Oak Ridge Turnpike had been repaired.
But crews were then repairing a 12-inch water main break on Robertsville Road and LaSalle Road, the city said.
“We are continuing to have discolored water complaints,” the city said. “Residents are encouraged to flush their lines within their homes by running water every so often until the water runs clear.”
