The annual ASAP of Anderson 50/50 Raffle will be hosted virtually at 10 p.m. Saturday.
It will raise awareness and money for substance misuse prevention efforts in Anderson County.
The event is usually held at the Anderson County Fair, but the fair has been canceled.
Ticket buyers can view the drawing through ASAP’s Facebook and Instagram pages. ASAP encourages you to buy tickets.
The drawing itself will be streamed live on Facebook and Instagram. The winners will be announced Saturday evening on all of ASAP’s social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Raffle tickets cost $5 per ticket, and ticket sales will be ending at noon on Saturday, July 18, in preparation for the drawing that evening.
First prize will receive half of the proceeds collected from the raffle. Second prize will win a 65-inch television. Third prize will win a Yeti Cooler. Fourth prize will win a Downtown Clinton Salon and Shop Package. Fifth prize wins a month-long membership to Clinch Valley CrossFit. Funds raised through the 50/50 Raffle are used for activities, programs, and events related to substance use prevention. They include:
- I AM ONE campaign, which aims to reduce underage drinking and increase awareness of Tennessee’s Social Host Liability Law.
- Youth Ambassadors Coalition (YAC) at all three high schools and a number of middle schools in the county.
- Count It! Lock It! Drop It!, which encourages community members to count their medications and provides home medicine lock boxes to community members and permanent medicine disposal bins at local police departments.
- GenerationRx, an education and awareness curriculum aimed at teaching youth and adults about the dangers of prescription medications
