The new Oak Ridge Senior Center is scheduled to open later this year.
Area seniors will enjoy opportunites for recreation, physical fitness, education, health screenings, social activites, nutrition lunch program, and transportation assistance, a press release said.
At this time, the Senior Center needs the community’s help in furnishing the building, the press release said.
“Your donation of any of the pieces of furniture will greatly be appreciated,” the release said. “You can choose from the furniture on our list or assist with a cash donation.”
All donations will go 100 percent toward making the new Senior Center a place in which our entire community can take pride in, the press release said. All gifts will be recognized at the grand opening.
Gifts of more than $250 will appear on a permanent plaque to be displayed at the Senior Center, the press release said.

Furniture list of needed items are as follows:
- Stack chairs—$80 each
- Padded chairs—$130 each
- Stool—$90 each
- 60-inch round tables—$200 each
- 8-foot rectangular tables—$100 each
- Square tables—$200 each
“Pierce Physical Therapy and the Senior Center wants to thank our community for any and all help in getting the Senior Center ready for our local seniors,” the press release said.
