A motorcyclist from Clinton was injured in a crash with a car in Solway on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The car-motorcycle crash was reported at about 9:17 a.m. Tuesday on State Route 62 (Pellissippi Parkway) in west Knox County.
Robert Wood, 47, of Clinton, was traveling east on a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Tracy Carlson, 42, of Knoxville, pulled into the path of the motorcycle as Carlson turned left onto the highway from Solway Road, causing the collision, according to a preliminary crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Carlson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, the crash report said. Carlson was charged with failure to exercise due care, the report said.
Wood was wearing a motorcycle helmet, but was charged with non-DOT complaint motorcycle helmet, the report said.
Wood’s condition was not immediately clear Friday night.
More information will be added as it becomes available.

Prayers for Mr. Wood and that people would pay attention when driving. He easily could have been killed.
