Seventh Judicial District Attorney General Dave Clark will discuss Neo-Nazism and the root causes of its rise in East Tennessee on Tuesday, a press release said.
Clark, the DA in Anderson County, will be the speaker at Lunch with the League at noon Tuesday.
His general topic will center on Neo-Nazism, and the root causes of its rise in East Tennessee, the press release said.
The meeting will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Social Hall of the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
A native of Anderson County, Clark received his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees from the University of Tennessee, the press release said. Before returning to Anderson County to open his own law office, he was in private practice in Nashville. Clark served two terms as part-time county attorney, prior to his election as district attorney general of Anderson County in 2006, and again in 2014. He campaigned on the platform of making the community safer, the press release said.
Clark has received many awards and recognitions including award of Excellence in Contributing to Child Protective Investigative Team, and “Power Award” from the Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention of Anderson County, the press release said.
Lunch with the League is a public service program open to the community. Membership in the League of Women Voters is not required, and there is no cost to attend.
The presentation will begin at noon Tuesday. Lunches are provided by the Soup Kitchen and are available at 11:30 a.m. on a first-come basis for $8, or you may bring your own. Coffee and tea are provided.
The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge, a nonpartisan political organization for men and women, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy, the press release said.
