Newly elected and re-elected Anderson County commissioners were sworn in Tuesday morning at the Courthouse in Clinton.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, commissioners held a brief meeting during which they elected Tracy Wandell to serve as the next chair of the Commission, succeeding Tim Isbel.
Longtime Commissioner Jerry Creasey was elected vice chair.
A parliamentarian will likely be selected later this month when the Commission meets in regular seassion.
There are several new commissioners on Anderson County Commission, including one in District 2 and two in District 3, and a few other members who won their first commission election after being appointed to fill a vacant seat.
Other county officeholders have also been sworn in. They have included several new officeholders—Sheriff Russell Barker, Trustee Regina Copeland, and Circuit Court Clerk Rex Lynch—and several people who successfully ran for re-election: Mayor Terry Frank, Register of Deeds Tim Shelton, County Clerk Jeff Cole, and Road Superintendent Gary Long.
The Anderson County general election was August 2.
