On February 1, five members of the Oak Ridge High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the Region 6 Conference at the Knoxville Expo Center.
The ORHS students received the following awards:
- Chapter—Silver Chapter Award for increasing membership
- Rachel McBryar—3rd Place, Accounting
- Bailey Williams—3rd Place, Introduction to Business Communication
- Ella Stewart—4th Place, Introduction to FBLA
- Blake Norris—6th Place, Introduction to Financial Math
These students may now advance to compete at the State Leadership Conference to be held in Chattanooga from March 11-14.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student business organization in the world, a press release said. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps more than 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. FBLA-PBL’s mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs, the press release said.
