No injuries were reported when a fire destroyed a vacant home on Thursday night, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 112 South Walker Lane at about 11:40 p.m. Thursday.

More than a dozen personnel from the Oak Ridge Fire Department responded, and they were able to get the fire under control within about 10 minutes, the City of Oak Ridge said in a press release. No injuries were reported.

The home was a total loss, the city said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No other details will be released at this time.

I heard a boom around that time last night almost two miles away. Glad that everyone is okay.

I heard a few thuds while I was there on Thursday (from about 12-12:45), but I’m not sure they were loud enough to be heard from two miles away. But I don’t know about any sounds before or after I was there. I don’t know what caused the thuds I heard, but someone thought they might have been windows blowing out. I can’t say for sure if that is correct.
