The Oak Ridge Wildcats will play the Halls Red Devils in the first round of the District 3-AAA baseball tournament at Karns on Friday.

Oak Ridge (13-14, 6-6 District 3-AAA) is the number five seed in the district, while Halls (15-11, 9-3) is number four.

The winner of the Oak Ridge-Halls game will advance to play on Saturday against the winner of a game between Karns, the number one seed, and the number eight seed, either Clinton or Campbell County.

The loser of the Oak Ridge-Halls game will play the loser of the Karns-Clinton/Campbell County game. That game is also scheduled for Saturday at Karns.

Halls beat Oak Ridge once during the regular season in a 7-2 game at Halls on Thursday, April 20.

Four other District 3-AAA teams will also start the tournament on Friday but at Gibbs. Gibbs, the number two seed, will play Central, the number seven seed. Powell, the number three seed, will play Anderson County, the number six seed. The next games in that bracket will be played at Gibbs on Saturday.
