WYSH: CPD investigating fatal shooting at Walmart in Clinton

Information from WYSH Radio

Officers from the Clinton Police Department, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department, and other emergency personnel were investigating a fatal shooting in the parking lot of Walmart in Clinton on Friday afternoon.

Few details have been released as of Friday afternoon, but one person is dead and another is in custody. No names have been released at this time.

The shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, and it prompted a massive response from law enforcement and emergency personnel.

The scene was said to be secure, and an investigation is under way.
