Oak Ridge Public Library is hosting a new series of programs on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:30 a.m.

World Wise Wednesdays are open to the public, and they will offer discussions on a variety of topics from gardening and seed swapping to how to get the most for your vacation money by cruising, to the natural history of hummingbirds.

The March program featured Ijam’s naturalist and author Stephen Lyn Bales, who talked about hummingbirds, their life cycle, and which ones we can hope to see this summer.

On April 19, Betty Longworth of Countryside Gardens will demonstrate flower arranging for bouquets and window boxes.

On May 17, Muffett Grub of Cruise Holidays will present Cruising 101, giving hints for how to get the most out of your holiday cruise.

For a full schedule, visit the library’s website at orpl.org or call (865) 425-3455.

All events are open to the public and begin at 10:30 in the library auditorium.
