Joseph Gambill

Joseph Martin Gambill was born to Everett F. and Sara M. Gambill in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on June 4, 1957. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 13, 2017.

He lived in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and was married to Lynn Gambill for 28 years. He was a loving father to his son, Gregory Joseph Gambill.

He is also survived by his siblings, James (Allison) Gambill and Jane (Jim) Gambill; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Nosun; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Michael Coleman, and Kathy and Greg Killingsworth.

He is preceded in death by his parents Everett F. and Sara M. Gambill.

Joseph graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor’s Degree, and he received his Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University.

Joseph worked for Pratt & Whitney for over 37 years as an aerospace engineer in internal architectural design. He was a Fellow, internal design and architecture with two patents. He was a mentor to many others.

Joseph enjoyed golf, reading, University of Tennessee football and basketball, aerospace engineering, telling jokes, and most importantly, spending time with his wife and son. He was extremely intelligent and had a way of finding the best in everyone and putting everyone at ease. He fought his extreme illness with great dignity and never lost his sense of humor. He never gave up hope and joked until the end.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3720 Old Highway 37, Lakeland, Florida, 33813, with a reception to follow at Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Florida, at 12 noon.
