Countryside Tire and Auto Service plans to open soon at the site of the former Keeping Room on Rutgers Avenue.
Countryside Tire and Auto hopes to open the new shop in late October.
“We will know better as it gets closer,” the company said Monday.
Countryside Tire and Auto will be moving to Rutgers Avenue from its current location at 220 Brisbane Road in east Oak Ridge.
The Rutgers Avenue property is across from a new ORNL Federal Credit Union branch and just north of Main Street Oak Ridge, the project to redevelop the former Oak Ridge Mall.
The Keeping Room closed in the summer of 2009.
Meanwhile, a short drive east, Secret City Pies on Oak Ridge Turnpike has announced it is closed.
“Secret City Pies is closed for business,” said a sign posted on the front door of the business as of Monday, August 1. “We apologize and hope you have a good summer!”
The business was opened by Terry and Leisa Hope several years ago, but it had been sold some time ago.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
