The Charlie Daniels Band and Grand Funk Railroad with Atlanta Rhythm Section will be the headliners in the Friday and Saturday night concerts at the Secret City Festival in June.

“After a record-breaking concert turnout in 2015, the 14th annual Secret City Festival on June 10th-11th aims to keep the good times rolling,” a press release said.

The concert headliners were announced Friday by radio sponsors 96.7 MerleFM and 93.1 WNOX.

Daniels continues to “bring down the house” at age 78 with his genre-defining Southern rock anthems and his CMA Award-winning country hits, the press release said. The legendary musician was recently announced as a 2016 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the press release said. He is best known for such hits as “Uneasy Rider,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “Trudy,” “Long Haired Country Boy,” “Midnight Wind,” and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

The Friday night concert on June 10 is sponsored by LDA Engineering and 96.7 MerleFM.

The Southern Drawl Band, one of the nation’s hottest emerging bands, will open the Friday night show for the Charlie Daniels Band. The native Nashville band combines modern country with a rocking stage show, the press release said.

The Grand Funk Railroad with Atlanta Rhythm Section will headline the Saturday night concert on June 11.

The press release described the Grand Funk Railroad as a quintessential 1970s rock band that is “comin’ to your town to help you party it down.” The Saturday night concert is sponsored by UCOR and 93.1 WNOX.

Known as the “American Band,” the high-energy Grand Funk Railroad will bring their chart topping hits “We’re An American Band,” “Time Machine,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” and “Shinin’ On” to Oak Ridge, the press release said.

The release said Atlanta Rhythm Section has been part of the southern rock scene for more than 30 years. Their biggest hits include “Doraville,” “I’m Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight,” “Champagne Jam,” “So Into You,” “Imaginary Lover,” “Spooky,” and fan favorite “Boogie Smoogie.”

CNS Y-12 and the City of Oak Ridge are festival sponsors.

Concert tickets will go on sale May 2 with the early-bird rate of $22 through May 30. The rate will be $25 from May 31 through June 11 and at the gate.

The festival will also feature a World War II re-enactment, children’s areas, arts and crafts vendors, food, fun, and more, the press release said. Along with festival sponsors CNS-Y12 and the City of Oak Ridge, 15 sponsoring corporations have contributed to make this year’s festival a success and will be announced soon, the release said.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
