CapitalMark Bank and Trust changed its name and identity to Pinnacle Financial Partners on Monday in a sign unveiling event at its Oak Ridge office in Jackson Square.

CapitalMark was merged with Pinnacle on July 31, 2015, giving the firm a presence in three additional East Tennessee counties. CapitalMark had continued to operate under its brand until the systems and operations of the companies were totally integrated with Pinnacle.

Clients from both firms will enjoy more benefits as a result of the integration, including the convenience of accessing 43 offices in Tennessee’s four urban markets—Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, and Chattanooga, a press release said.

For the past month, Pinnacle has communicated extensively with clients to explain the changes they will see in procedures, materials, and the website, www.pnfp.com, the release said.

“This is a significant milestone in our history,” said M. Terry Turner, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacle Financial Partners. “Teams from both organizations have worked tirelessly to lead the complex process of integrating client and internal systems and communicating with everyone affected. From the onset, we aspired to operate in all of Tennessee’s urban markets, and now we’ve realized that dream.”

Community and business leaders, clients, and friends joined CapitalMark and Pinnacle associates at a sign unveiling celebration on Monday at the combined firm’s Jackson Square office in Oak Ridge.

“The associates in our Oak Ridge office are excited about beginning a new chapter as we transition to Pinnacle,” said David Bradshaw, Pinnacle’s area manager and financial adviser for Oak Ridge. “We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service to the community with additional capabilities and expertise.”

Pinnacle and CapitalMark announced the intent to merge on April 7, 2015. The transaction closed less than four months later on July 31, 2015, when CapitalMark merged with Pinnacle Bank.

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage, and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution, the press release said. Pinnacle’s focus begins in recruiting top financial professionals. The American Banker recognized Pinnacle as the third best bank to work for in the country in 2015, the release said.

The firm began operations in a single downtown Nashville location in October 2000 and has since grown to more than $8.7 billion in assets as of December 31, 2015. As the second-largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, Pinnacle operates in the state’s four largest markets—Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, and Chattanooga—as well as several surrounding counties.

Additional information concerning Pinnacle, which is included in the NASDAQ Financial-100 Index, can be accessed at www.pnfp.com.
