The Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church has a free Christmas Day Dinner on Friday, December 25, and everyone is invited, a press release said.
The menu includes Honey Baked Ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, dessert, and fruit.
Dine in or take-out will be available in the ORUUC Social Hall from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, the press release said.
The church is located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge.
“We are so grateful to the Oak Ridge Honey Baked Ham Café for their very generous donation of hams for our special Christmas Day Dinner,” coordinator Jinx Watson said. “We are pleased to invite everyone in the community to join us.”
The ORUUC Stone Soup Free Community Meal is offered on the final Friday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. Food is provided from the ORUUC congregation and the Jewish congregation of Oak Ridge.
“Our community partner Kroger provides fresh fruit for each meal, something our guests really enjoy. It’s a restaurant- style atmosphere,” Watson said. “A welcoming host shows you to your table where you will be served. For some, attending is as much about the friendly atmosphere as it is about the meal. Everyone is always welcome.”
Some nonperishable family friendly groceries will be available for free to anyone in need.
For more information about the Friday, December 25, meal, call the ORUUC office at (865) 483-6761.
