ADFAC will honor dedicated volunteer and advocate Cande Seay with its Bill Wilcox Bow Tie Award in a celebration and fundraiser on Tuesday.
It’s the Third Annual Bill Wilcox Bow Tie Celebration and Fundraiser. It will be held Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30-8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center in Oak Ridge.
“Our community will come together to honor this very special lady, and we hope family, friends, past coworkers, and the many admirers of Cande Seay will join us!” a press release said.
Seay was unanimously chosen earlier this year as the 2015 winner of ADFAC’s Bill Wilcox Bow Tie Award. Previous winners of the prestigious award have been Ray Smith and the late Tim Myrick.
ADFAC is Aid To Distressed Failies of Appalachian Counties Inc.
The Tuesday evening event is free to attend, but there will be several fun opportunities to donate to ADFAC in honor of Cande Seay. For planning purposes, if you plan to attend, please RSVP at https://bowtie2015.eventbrite.com or via email to [email protected].
Dress is casual—but bow ties are welcomed and encouraged, the press release said.
The press release said many details must remain undisclosed in order to provide surprises for the recipient, but ADFAC sources have revealed that “delightful dinner fare, beverages, and desserts will be served.” Secret entertainment acts are scheduled, and there will be plenty of opportunities to honor Seay through games and other activities.
The event will include live and silent auctions, which range from enticing wine baskets to a Disneyworld weekend package—something for everyone.
“We can’t wait to see Cande’s reactions to the mysterious, secret happenings at the Bow Tie event, and encourage you to join us in paying tribute to a remarkable woman!†the ADFAC Planning Committee said.
