The 2015 Clinton 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run race on October 24 will benefit splash pad and playground efforts in Clinton.

The race is set for 9 a.m. Saturday October 24, at Lakefront Park on Riverside Drive in Clinton. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

“The proceeds from the race benefit the splash pad and playground efforts brought to you by Clinton4Kids and the City of Clinton,” organizers said.

Online registration is now open at www.clinton5k.com.

Here’s a note from Clinton Mayor Scott Burton related to the splash pad:

The City of Clinton is proud to announce that its collaboration with the Clinton 4 Kids parent group will soon pay off. Our goal is to start construction on the new Clinton Splash Pad this winter and to have the grand opening in the Spring of 2016.

“It has been a long journey but well worth the outcome,” Burton said.
