They left their homes to fight for their country. Some of them were wounded physically and some were injured emotionally. And while they came back unbroken in spirit, many of them still need help to finish their recovery.
Assisting both the wounded veterans and their families is a responsibility all Americans should consider undertaking. The sponsors and supporters of the Pull For Our VeteransTM are doing their part by hosting the 4th Annual Pull For Our Veterans Trap and Skeet Fun Shoot to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project on September 18-20.
The three-day long event includes a Law Enforcement and Wounded Veteran’s Shoot on Friday, September 18, followed by a two-day fun shoot among 100 shooters on September 19 and September 20. At least five wounded warriors are expected to participate in the event and 100 percent of the money generated from the event will go to the Wounded Warrior Project to aid our veterans.
“This shooting event is a way for the veterans and patriots of East Tennessee to give to and honor our nations wounded warriors,†said Richard Stouder, president of Pull For Our Veterans. “Over the last three years, we’ve raised over $52,000 and every penny has gone to the Wounded Warrior Project. Our tremendous success is due to the many generous sponsors, participants, and volunteers.â€
Besides the shooting event itself, a dinner will be held on Saturday night at St. Mary’s School in Oak Ridge to honor the Wounded Warriors. As part of the festivities, a silent auction and a live auction will be conducted to generate additional funding for the Wounded Warrior Project.
All of the shooting events are open to the public and will be held at the Oak Ridge Sportsmen’s Association facility, which is located at 2625 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Friday night’s event will start at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. The event will start at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday and end at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday’s event starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
Pull for Our Veterans Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting the Wounded Warrior Project. It is staffed only by volunteers and 100 percent of the funding it collects goes to Wounded Warriors.
