Roane State Community College will host a free Summer Bridge program for Tennessee Promise students July 13-31 at the college’s main campus in Harriman.

The free three-week program prepares students to potentially test out of learning support (remedial) courses and start their freshman years college-ready.

Roane State has 60 openings for its Summer Bridge program. The deadline to apply is June 15. Spots can fill up quickly.

Any student whose ACT scores are below 18 (English), 19 (Reading), or 19 (Math) should consider signing up for the Summer Bridge program.

Each day, Summer Bridge students will have class for three hours (split between reading/writing and math), lunch and additional instruction on topics such as time management and study skills. The program will last from 9 a.m.-noon each day (lunch at noon).

To sign up, go to www.tnpromise.gov/bridge.

For more information, contact Kathy Rhodes, (865) 354-3000, ext. 4202, or rhodeskc@roanestate.edu.
