The Youth Showcase and Auction on Saturday will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Anderson County.

It’s the second annual event, and it starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Grove Theater in Oak Ridge.

“Enjoy live performances by local talented youth, including musicians, singers, dancers, and a magician,” an event flyer said. “Matt Shafer Powell will be our master of ceremonies, and a delicious taco bar and desserts will be provided.”

Organizers said there will be an auction of exciting items, including a 55-inch Vizio television, getaway adventure packages, art by local students, opera tickets, and much more.

Here is a link to the event: http://www.childadvocacycenter.net/events/.

The Child Advocacy Center of Anderson County (CACACT Inc.) serves abused children of Anderson County at no cost to the county, the victims, or their families. The organization’s forensic interviewer will interview a young victim of abuse once, instead of having multiple interviews by law enforcement, the district attorney general’s office, and child protective services. They also provide forensic medical exams and therapeutic counseling at their center.

Their mission is to combat severe physical and sexual abuse and the resulting trauma by coordinating and providing services in a child-friendly, safe, and nurturing environment..

For more information, visit www.childadvocacycenter.com, find them on Facebook, or call (865) 863-2740 and ask for Margaret.
