Rev. Allen P. Osborne, age 71, of Powell, passed away Monday, April 6, at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending his time with family and reading his Bible—while he also liked to hunt and fish.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Chrystal Osborne and Ruby (Wampler) Osborne; sons, Allen Penly Osborne Jr., Randy Lee Osborne, Larry Eugene Osborne; daughter, Theresa Marie Osborne; brothers, Arlene Osborne, Chrystal Osborne; and sister, Janice Marie Osborne.
Allen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys Faye Osborne of Powell; daughter, Tammy Michael Moore and husband, Rickey of Clinton; brothers, Kenneth “Jerry†Osborne and wife, Brenda of Clinton, Ronnie Osborne of Oak Ridge; sisters, Esther (Osborne) Matthews of Pineville, Kentucky, Linda (Osborne) Churchwell of Warren, Ohio, Julie (Osborne) Matheney of Bell City, Missouri, Paulette (Osborne) Howe and husband, Roy of Maynardville; grandchildren, Terry, Theresa, and Brian; and great-grandchildren, Richard, Christina, Dedjrikk, and Madoxx.
Allen’s family will receive his friends, Thursday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Jimmy Rutherford and Rev. Mark Gillium officiating. A special eulogy will be read by Theresa Taylor. Allen’s interment will be Friday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church cemetery in Clinton. Pallbearers are Terry Taylor, William Barlow, Michael Barlow, Brian Moore, Rickey Moore, and Chris Barlow.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
