Mack Arthur Davis

Mack Arthur Davis, age 70, of Oak Ridge, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, April, 4, at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born October 20, 1944 in Asbury, Tennessee, the son of Steve Edward Davis and Roxie Hazel Hamilton Davis.

Mack retired as a receiving clerk from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2007 after more than 40 years of service. He was an active and devoted member of Riverview Baptist Church in Claxton.

Mack enjoyed gospel music, attending flea markets, and antiquing. He was an avid animal lover, and he also enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Matthew Stephen Davis and Paul Timothy Davis; brother, Kenny Davis; and sister, Ann Gardner.

He is survived by sons, Mike Davis and wife Christine of Clarksville, and Todd Matthew Davis and wife Julia of Suwanee, Georgia; daughter, Donna Davis Lamb and husband Mike of Rogers, Arkansas; sisters, Hazel Coward of Knoxville and Grace Smith of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren, Amanda Marie Winn and husband Rob, and Jonathan Matthew Davis, all of Clarksville, Reagan Nicole Davis and her son Levi of Oak Ridge, Zachary Frank Lamb of Rogers, Arkansas, Cameron Seth Davis of Oak Ridge, and Blakely Belle Davis and Emilia Elise Davis, of Suwanee, Georgia; and Bessie Davis, of Oak Ridge, the mother of his children, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. David Hicks officiating. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a graveside service.

The family asks that any memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
