The Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church has a free community meal on Friday, March 27. Everyone is invited, a press release said.
The Stone Soup Ministry team will be serving a homemade meal of chili, corn muffins, cookies, and fruit. Dine-in or take-out will be available in the ORUUC Social Hall from 5 to 6 p.m. The church is located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge.
The Stone Soup Free Community Meal is offered on the final Friday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Church Social Hall. Community partner Kroger provides fresh fruit for the meal.
“It’s a restaurant-style atmosphere at Stone Soup. A welcoming host shows you to your table where you will be served a homemade hot and nutritious meal, including fresh fruit and a beverage. For some, attending is as much about the friendly atmosphere as it is about the meal. Everyone is welcome,†said coordinator Jinx Watson.
