Russell Colwell

Russell Colwell, age 78, of Rocky Top, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 2, at his residence.

Russell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible. Russell was always known to put others before himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Maggie Colwell; son, Burtus Colwell; brothers, Iry Dale Colwell (Blackie), and Fred Colwell; sisters, Gladys Feltner, Audrey Irvin Miller, and Gerldean Sizemore Wood; and grandchildren, Mary Jane Colwell, and Candice Colwell.

Russell is survived by his wife, Shirley Colwell of Rocky Top; sons, Felix Colwell of Rocky Top, Tim Bryant of Jacksboro, Mark Bryant and fiancé Michelle Brown of Clinton, Russell Dean Colwell of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Bill Miller and wife Linda of Alaska; and daughters, Karen Bullock and husband Mike of Clinton, and Sondra Ray and husband Rick of Clinton. Russell also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Russell’s family and friends will have a graveside service for him at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at Glen Foust Cemetery in Rocky Top, with Rev. James Adkins officiating.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jones Mortuary 375 N. Main St. Clinton, TN 37716.
