Beulah Mae Coker Wilson, age 89, a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs, passed away, Wednesday, February 18, at Methodist Medical Center.

Mrs. Wilson was born on November 4, 1925, in Roane County. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

Beulah Mae was a faithful member of the New Mountain View Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, where she was always willing to assist in any church activities, especially during Bible school. She could always be counted on to devote her time in giving care to the sick in the church, also in her community, and she is one who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She retired from the Roane Hosiery Mill in Harriman following 48 years of service.

Beulah Mae is preceded in death by her husbands, Claude “Red” Wilson and Cleo Wilson; parents Fred and Lena Ollis Coker; sisters Mildred Kubas and Patricia “Pat” Miller; by brothers, Alfred and Delbert Coker; and by a daughter-in-law, Betty Wilson.

She is survived by a daughter, Freddie Lou Varagona and husband Robert of Oliver Springs; by a son, Randell Wilson of Oak Park, Georgia; by grandchildren: Tammi Hensley of Leigh Acres, Florida, Randy Wilson of Oak Park, Georgia, and Sharon Wilson of Oak Park, Georgia; by four great-grandchildren; and by one great-great-grandchild.

Additionally she is survived by sisters, Wilma Kubas and husband Frank of Harriman, and Gail Nelson and husband Clarence of Oliver Springs, and by a host of extended family members and special friends.

The family received friends, Saturday, February 21, between 6 and 7 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. Burial and graveside services were held Sunday, February 22, at 2 p.m. at the New Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Copeland officiating.

Sharp Funeral Home is serving the Wilson family, and we invite you to share your messages and condolences at www.sharpfh.com.
