Oak Ridge Schools will be closed Friday, and the Anderson County Courthouse and Y-12 National Security Complex will open at 8 a.m.
The offices of the Anderson County Clerk and Trustee will not open until 10 a.m.
“County officials still urge that Anderson County citizens stay safe and use extreme caution if citizens must be out and about,” a statement said. “County officials will continue monitoring the weather, and if it worsens earlier than anticipated on Friday, the Courthouse and other county government offices will be closed early.”
Uranium Processing Facility offsite offices will be open, and employees should report at their regular shifts.
“Everyone is urged to use caution when driving or walking at the site and to stay on designated snow routes,” a statement said.
ORAU’s Oak Ridge offices will be operating on a normal schedule. Employees are urged to drive safely to the office.
Roane State Community College will be on its regular class schedule for Friday.
“When on campus, use the cleared paths to avoid icy patches,” a statement said.
The International Festival at the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge has been postponed from Friday and Saturday to February 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The winter weather this week and hazardous driving conditions have forced many schools, offices, businesses, and government agencies to close all or most of the week, but the temperature is expected to warm above freezing on Saturday.
