Louise Honeycutt

Louise Carson Honeycutt passed away on Tuesday, January 20. She was 89.

Louise and her husband Presley came to Oak Ridge during the war, where she worked for a brief time at the K-25 plant. The two of them enjoyed gardening, particularly growing their own vegetables.

Later in her life, Louise worked as an aide at the Daniel Arthur Rehabilitation Center. After retirement, Louise and Presley enjoyed traveling and visited all of the states except Hawaii.

Both Louise and Presley were long time members of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nancy Dexter Carson and Andrew Lonzo Carson, and husband Presley Winston Honeycutt.

She is survived by sisters Virginia Dean, Irene Butler, Pauline (Turney) Turney, son “Ronnie” and his wife Carolyn, granddaughter Monica (Jon) Rael, and great-grandchildren Meghanne and Caelan Hill.

The family received friends Friday January 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Darryl Arender officiating. Interment was Saturday, January 24, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park
