Donald Ray Long

Donald Ray Long, age 57, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, January 4, at his home.

He was born December 29, 1957, in Oak Ridge, the son of Ernest L. Long Jr. and Wilma Wynn Long.

He had worked as a contractor with Tobler Construction.

He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.

He enjoyed cooking, watching TV, and spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Thomas Walter Long, on October 15, 2005.

He is survived by sister, Rebecca Libby and husband Wayne of Oak Ridge, and brother, James B. Long and wife Amanda of Oak Ridge; nieces, Stephanie Libby, Hannah Long, Emily Long, and Sarah Caldwell; nephews, Sean Caldwell, Adam Caldwell, Zachary Long and wife Julie, and Jacob Long; great-nephew, Zachery Long II; long-time friend and companion, Jean Frederick; and special friend, Steve Ferguson and family.

The family greeted friends on Saturday, January 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 109 Euclid Place, Oak Ridge.

The family asks that any memorials be given in Donald’s name to the American Cancer Society.
