Thomas Stephen "T.S." Thrasher

Thomas Stephen “T.S.” Thrasher

Thomas Stephen “T.S.” Thrasher Jr., age 29, blessed this world on July 5, 1985, and was devastatingly taken from us on December 8, 2014, to share his bright light with his Savior Jesus Christ.

T.S. was dedicated to God as an infant at Fountain City Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. T.S. spent his childhood and the majority of his adult life residing in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

T.S. began developing a strong work ethic at the age of 12, as evidenced by his first job delivering two paper routes at The Oak Ridger.

T.S. was the best brother in the whole world and was especially a champion for his sister Grace. He had a close and unique relationship with each of his brothers and sisters.

T.S. attended Oak Ridge High School and earned his diploma in 2003. He had just completed his final examinations at Pellissippi State University majoring, ironically, in criminal justice. He had completed all scholastic requirements and was to graduate in January 2015 with honors.

He respected life and valued family. His beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and sense of humor were heartfelt and sincere. He was a gentleman of good character who has left a legacy of love for his daughters, family, and friends. We have been blessed to know him.

He was currently employed at Advance Financial and recently received a promotion. He was totally prepared for the “Zombie Apocalypse” and was known to impersonate Michael Myers on Halloween (smile).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.T. Thrasher and ElFrieda Coleman, and Louis C. Wilson Jr. and Etta Wilson Johnson.

T.S is survived by his girls, Caitlin Thrasher, age 5, and Addison Lint, age 7; father, Thomas Stephen Trasher Sr. (Steve) and wife Gini of Powell, Tennessee; mother, Ietta Sue (Susie) Messer of Knoxville; bereaved brothers and sisters, Gabe and Wendy Thrasher, Coleman Thrasher of Powell, Amanda Messer, Grace Thrasher of Knoxville; Shaye, Amelia, and Kayla Thrasher of Powell; uncles and aunts, Jim and Carolyn McClain, and John and Gail Woods, all of Knoxville, Deborah Steele of Chattanooga; and nephew and nieces, Landry and Scarlett Thrasher of Powell and Hollis Messer of Knoxville.

The family received friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. A funeral service was conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Marc Sasser and Rev. Joe Marshall officiating. Interment followed at Woodhaven Cemetery.
