With the hustle and bustle of holidays all around, it’s a great time to treat yourself and your loved ones to a special meal. Fortunately, with ADFAC’s “Dine and Donate†event, there is a way to do that and support the less fortunate in our community.
On Monday, December 8, seven local restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC).
Restaurants participating on Monday, December 8, are:
- Gondolier in Clinton
- Hoskins in Clinton
- Mediterranean Delight in Oak Ridge
- Outback Steakhouse in Oak Ridge
- Papa Murphy’s in Oak Ridge
- Razzleberry’s in Oak Ridge
- Salsarita’s in Oak Ridge
Dine and Donate is a yearlong event, with different restaurants participating on the second Monday of each month. For a full calendar of restaurants and list of sponsors, visit www.adfac.org.
“Our December 8th Dine and Donate event is the perfect opportunity for families, friends, coworkers, and other groups to share a special holiday meal together,†said ADFAC Board Member Cande Seay, who also chairs the Dine and Donate committee. “We hope residents will take this time to connect with loved ones over delicious food, knowing each meal is made more special because it provides much-needed support for ADFAC’s work.”
December’s Dine and Donate event also provides an opportunity for holiday gift-giving. At most of our participating restaurants, gift card and/or catering purchases made on December 8 will also benefit ADFAC.
ADFAC, an independent nonprofit agency established in 1987, exists to serve the basic needs of primarily low-income residents in Anderson and surrounding Appalachian counties. ADFAC’s goal is to help families become stable and self-sufficient through a variety of direct assistance services provided by our Social Services and Affordable Housing programs. ADFAC answers more than 6,000 requests for assistance each year.
