Jeffrey Louis Ginsburg

Jeffery Louis Ginsburg, age 64, born April 27, 1950, in Oak Ridge, died Saturday, October 18.

Jeff graduated from Oak Ridge High School Class of 1968 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Tusculum College.

He was a former business owner, city councilman, and president of the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce. His recent professional work was spent in human resources, where he was vice president of human resources for LeGacy Resource Corporation. He also served as president of the Tennessee Valley Human Resources Association, was on the Tennessee State HR Association Council, and was past president of the Oak Ridge HR Association. He was recently awarded the ESGR Ombudsman of the Year for his work with the Army National Guard and Reserve. 

His greatest joy was playing guitar in the Boys Night Out Band for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Marty Ginsburg, Jeff is survived by much loved son, Michael Ross Ginsburg; sisters Sarah Milford and her husband Bob, Laura Floyd and her husband Frank; brothers Alan and Steve; nieces and nephews Andy Milford (Stephanie and son Zachary), Rachel Milford, Josh Ginsburg, David Floyd, and Elizabeth Floyd; and Jeff’s loving friend Jacque Ayers.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 26, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life Service, currently being planned, will be announced through social media as soon as possible.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Second Harvest Food Bank, 136 Harvest Lane, Maryville, TN 37801.
