Bobbie Louise Shepherd

Bobbie Shepherd, age 75, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, October 21, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Bobbie loved boating, fishing, and cruising. She was a very giving person and loved to help others. She was a longtime volunteer at the Salvation Army and spent 25 years with the Holiday Bureau. Bobbie worked as a nursing assistant at Parkwest Medical Center and drove a school bus for Oak Ridge Schools before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Sr. and Pauline Johnson; brother, Johnny Johnson; and son-in-law Mike Bailey. 

Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Debra Bailey of Powell, Tammy Shepherd of Oak Ridge, Leann Mullins and Jay Thorup of Clinton, and Billie Jean Shepherd of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Paul and Jessica Shepherd, Brandy and Roger Reed, Todd and Jessica Wood, Tony and Mary Taylor, Katrina Eckhardt and Donald Childress, and Destiny and Bruce Case; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Bobbie will be missed by all who knew her.

Bobbie’s family received her friends on Thursday, October 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Jones Mortuary, with her funeral service immediately following in the chapel with the Rev. David Trempe officiating. Her interment was at 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, PO Box 5953, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.
