Obituary: Sue Dale Rivet

Sue Dale Rivet, age 79, of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, August 30, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sue was a friend to all who knew her. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Clinton. She belonged to the Bible study class at the Bethel Church.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Russell and Mattie (Duncan) Jones; brothers, Lowell Jones and Norris Jones; and sister, Betty Martin.

Sue is survived by her husband, Roland Charles Rivet of Clinton; sons, Rowland Rivet Jr. “Chuck” of California, and Kenneth Rivet (Jenny) of Colorado; daughter, Eva Dale Navarra (John) of Margate, Florida; brother, Fred Jones (Sug) of Clinton; and seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sue’s family received her friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, with her funeral service following at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Don Long and Rev. Mark Gallaher officiating. Sue’s interment was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Salem Baptist Church building fund.

Jones Mortuary is in charge of all arrangements.
