Charles G. Dabney

Charles G. Dabney, age 69, of Norris, passed away Wednesday, August 27, at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Andersonville.

Charles was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Sheet Metal Worker Local #5 and Greenway Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by brothers, John, Earnest, and Richard Dabney, and sister, Linda Hankins.

Charles is survived by wife, Joy Dougherty Dabney of Norris; son, Jimmy Rains Dabney of Clearwater, Florida; daughter, Tracy Dabney Chitwood of Heiskell; brothers, Dennis Dabney (Juanita) of Heiskell and Bobby Dabney of Melbourne, Florida; sisters, Doris Hatcher of North Carolina, Marie Dabney of Nevada, and Dean Jones of South Dakota; and grandchildren, Travis Chitwood (Ashley), Chelsi Chitwood and Dylan and Dusty Rains.

Charles’ family received his friends on Saturday, August 30, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. His funeral service immediately followed at 3 p.m. with Rev. Darrell Griffis officiating. Charles’ interment was at Greenway Baptist Church Cemetery in Heiskell immediately following the funeral service.
