Obituary: Barbara Martin

Barbara Martin, age 66, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Windwood Healthcare in Clinton.

Barbara was born October 20, 1947, on Windrock Mountain to the union of James L. and Ruth Stealey Martin, who also preceded her in death. Additionally, she was preceded by two brothers and three sisters.

When Barbara was able, she attended Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She also enjoyed taking walks around town, shopping, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends. She worked most recently for about three years at the former Town Talk Market in Oliver Springs where the Marathon Station now is.

She is survived by a niece Helen Phillips and husband Gary of Oliver Springs; nephew Eugene Russell, as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and special friends, including Lois Hester and Louise Tinker.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, her body will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
