Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride – 1st Annual 5K – August 2

Summer Daze – The Secret City Scenic Excursion Train – August 2
Ride Times:Â Â 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm
This train ride gives you the opportunity to experience the journey enjoyed by travelers during the golden age of rail travel in the 1930’s and 40’s.  Passengers will begin their journey back in time abroad Southern Railway coach Fort Oglethorpe, built in 1947.  Advance reservations are required as seating is limited.  Call for ticket prices and departure times at 865-241-2140 and visit the website at www.southernappalachia.railway.museum.

Oak Ridge Community Band Summer Concert – August 3
Location:  A.K. Bissell Park – 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.  Time:  7:00pm

Ballroom Dancing – Every Monday, 6:30 p.m.
Location:  Wildcat Den Room of the Midtown Community Center.

Geocaching Workshop – Oak Ridge Arboretum – August 5
Location:  Oak Ridge Arboretum – 901 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge.  Time:  9:00am – 1:00pm

DOE Facilities Bus Tour – thru August 29
Location:  This bus tour will depart from the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) – 300 South Tulane Avenue.
This tour is free with paid admission to AMSE.  Dates:  Monday-Friday from June 2 thru August 29.
