Veronica Marie Armento

Veronica Marie Stenglein Armento, 79, of Oak Ridge, passed away on July 19, 2014, at Methodist Medical Center.

She was born June 27, 1935 in Queens, New York, to parents Frederick and Amelia D’Amico Stenglein.

Veronica was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Stenglein and Amelia D’Amico Stenglein.

Her survivors include her husband, William Joseph Armento, of Oak Ridge; daughter, Maria Elizabeth Anne Armento, of Oak Ridge; sister, Virginia Marie Allen, of Oak Ridge; brothers, George Stenglein and wife Lynn, of Goodlettsville, andĀ Fred Stenglein and wife Suzanne, of Crossville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 327-A Vermont Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37380, or to St. Albert The Great Catholic Church, 7200 Brickey Lane, Knoxville 37918.

The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m., with Father Bede Aboh officiating. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church, 7200 Brickey Lane, Knoxville with Father Chris Michelson and Father Tony Budrick officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
