James Andrew “Papaw Jimmy” Crain, age 57, a resident of Briceville, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Jimmy was born December 6, 1956, in Knoxville. He continued to live in Knoxville until his move to Briceville in 2009.
He was a disabled truck driver and he enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Crain and Violet Viola Jenkins Crain; by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Call Crain; by a brother, Bobby Crain, and by a sister, Charlotte Fleming; and by a special uncle, Clarence Jenkins.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Darlene Lowe Crain of Briceville; by children, Michael Crain of Knoxville, Christopher Crain and wife Kari of Knoxville, Megan Thornton and husband Michael of Oak Ridge, Michaela DeSormeaux of Newport, Tennessee, Katelin Roysden of Briceville, and Evan Randolph of Briceville; by grandchildren, Michael Crain, Madison Crain, Kristan Randolph, Jacob Crain, Harley Crain, Isabella Thornton, and Brooklyn Thornton.
He is also survived by a sister, Jean Heffner and husband Carl of Halls; by a brother, Billy Crain and wife Tracy of Maryville; by special cousins, Mike Taylor and Larry Jenkins; and a host of special friends and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2014, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Thornton officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Brown/Lowe Cemetery in Briceville.
