Marion “Pete” Burgess Scott

Marion “Pete” B. Scott, 65, passed away May 21.

He was born in South Williamson, Ky., to the late Lloyd D. and surviving Selba Young Scott. He was a graduate from the University of Tennessee in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering. He worked for many years at Y-12/UT Battelle, specializing in HVAC mechanical engineering.

Pete enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and karaoke with friends. He was very active with the local Fraternal order of Eagles, Atomic City Aerie 2514, serving as treasurer.

He attended Karns Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughter, Whitney Miller and husband Matt; and son, Jonathan Scott and wife Shayna; three grandchildren; two sisters, Beth Scott of Knoxville, and Sue Nilsen of Spartanburg, S.C.; and mother, Selba Scott of Spartanburg, S.C.

He was preceded in death by the late Lloyd D. Scott.

Graveside service were held Tuesday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Karns Church of Christ Benevolence Fund, 6612 Beaver Ridge Rd., Knoxville, TN 37931.
