Obituary: Tom ‘Bill’ Fowler

Tom “Bill” Fowler passed away Monday, April 14, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Oak Ridge.

Tom was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a code developer and served in the South Pacific with the United States Marines. Tom joined ORNL Nuclear Reactor Physics Division in 1953 and was a leader of the Code Development Group and  co-authored numerous articles on code development. He retired in 1981.

Tom was a great animal and wildlife supporter and was a member of the Knoxville Track Club and ran in the Boston Marathon in 1979. As a hobby, he would build guitars and was also a member of Foothills Craft Guild.

Tom’s wishes are to be cremated, and no service are planned at this time.
