Mary Graham Coover, age 67, died at her home on April 6.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1946, in Tiplersville, Miss. She graduated from Walnut High School in Walnut, Miss., in 1964. Mary moved to Oak Ridge in 1972.
She began as a teller at The Bank of Oak Ridge and moved her way up to loan officer. She became a highly respected mortgage banker, working for NBD and Mortgage Investors Group.
Mary had planned to retire to Kingsport with her husband, Dr. Stephen R. Coover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Isobel Graham; her sister, Freda Joyce Akins; and her in-laws, Dr. Harry and Muriel Coover.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Stephen R. Coover of Oak Ridge; daughters, Dawn Hopkins of Memphis and Stephanie Plunk-Hale (Sean) of Atascadero, Calif.; two grandchildren, Miranda Jenkins and Parker Hale; two brothers, Charles Ronald Graham and Dr. Phillip Graham; and three nieces.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life at her home on Saturday, April 12, from 2 to 5 p.m.
