William Boyd Wyrick

William Boyd Wyrick, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 28, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 24, 1941, in Knoxville, the son of Polly Day and Marcus William Wyrick.

Mr. Wyrick retired from Airport Olds-Cadillac, where he was a sales representative. He was a member of Burlington Masonic Lodge #763 of Knoxville, the Knoxville Scottish Rite and Kerbela Shriners.

Mr. Wyrick was an accomplished musician and songwriter, playing the guitar and harmonica. In earlier years, he played and recorded with Jimmy Hendrix. He also owned and aired a syndicated TV show in Knoxville.

He is survived by his wife and best friends of 30 years, Martha Devine Wyrick; children, Jeff Comas and wife Laura, of Knoxville, Jacqueline Koehler and husband John, of Corryton, Jack Cornett and wife Sandy, of Knoxville, and James Cornett, also of Knoxville; brother, Lendon Wyrick of Knoxville; nephew, Zane Wyrick of Nashville; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Jack Sills officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family asks that any memorials be made in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of TN, 404 BNA Drive, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37117-2571.
