Eldon Eugene Seeber, age 79, a resident of the Frost Bottom Community, passed away Sunday, March 23, at his home.
Mr. Seeber was born June 10, 1934, in Devonia. At a early age, the family moved to Oliver Springs.
Eldon served his country in the United States Army. While serving, he received several medals, citations, and ribbons.
Before his retirement he was employed at the White Store Grocery, Galaxy Grocery, French’s Grocery, and Ace Hardware, all in Oliver Springs. Before he was drafted, he contracted for the U.S. Department of Energy. His hobby and greatest pleasure came from attending worship service, playing guitar, and singing in church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crosley and Mary Alice Seeber; by a daughter, Regina Georgette Seeber; by sons, Steve E. Seeber and David Gene Seeber; by a sister, Gladys Laws; and by a brother, Harlan Seeber.
Mr. Seeber is survived by his wife of 52 years, Georgia Burchfield Seeber; by sons, Gary Eldon Seeber of Oliver Springs, Eddie Dwight Seeber of Oak Ridge, Brian Jeffrey Seeber, and Travis Ray Seeber and wife Amanda, all of Oliver Springs; and by grandchildren, Regina, Ashley, David Garrett, Jessica David, and Jordan Seeber.
He is also survived by sisters, Wilma Grace Seeber and Carolyn Deanna Seeber of Oliver Springs; by brothers, Lewis Seeber of Oliver Springs, Austin Seeber of Clinton, and Otis Ray Seeber and wife Mary Ann, of Marlow; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of special friends.
The family received friends Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed with Pastor Charlie Marlow and Pastor Joey Liles officiating. Burial and graveside services were held Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at the Frost Bottom Cemetery.
