Cecil Lynette Seeber, age 59, a resident of Lake City and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mrs. Seeber was born May 25, 1954, in Oliver Springs. She lived in Lexington, Ky., from 1978 until 1995. She moved back to Oliver Springs in 1995 and continued living in Oliver Springs until her move to Lake City in 2011.
Lynette graduated from Oliver Springs High School in 1972 and Tennessee Tech in 1976. She was employed as a librarian at the Briceville Public Library for 17 years, retiring in 2012.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing.
Mrs. Seeber was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Sisson Seeber, Cecle H. Seeber, and Flora Seeber; by a sister, Bobbie Whaley; and by a nephew, Stanley Hall.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise Butler and husband Toby, of Lake City; by grandchildren, Tabetha Lynn Butler and Marilynn Jayne Butler, both of Lake City; by two brothers, Frank Phillips and wife Wilma of Oliver Springs, and Troy Phillips and wife Bernice of Lake City; and by sisters, Pat Daugherty and husband Larry of Oliver Springs, Dorothy Hall and husband Luke of Oliver Springs, Marilyn Seeber of Corbin, Ky., Ruby Tackett of Caryville, Tenn., Geneva Bunch of Oliver Springs, Margaret Barber and husband Lee, of Lake City, and Fay Wilson of Lake City.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Elizabeth Scisco and Crystal Seeber. She is also survived by a host of special friends, including the people of Briceville, co-librarians, Carrie Gifford, Daphne Windham. and many more.
The family received friends Saturday, March 15, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Morgan and Rev. Jason Goans officiating. Burial and graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
