Victor Paul Connelly, age 50, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at Tennova North Medical Center in Powell.
He was born Jan. 5, 1964, in Chattanooga.
Victor was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed playing golf, football, basketball, and waterskiing. One of his greatest pleasures in life was being around his family and people in general; he had nicknames for everyone he knew.
He was preceded in death by stepbrother, Brian Sammons.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Wright Connelly of Oak Ridge; son, Victor Paul Connelly II of Oak Ridge and his fiancé, Brittney Lane; daughters, Natalie Faye Connelly of Oak Ridge and Kayla Michelle Connelly and her mother, Jennifer Grooms Hapner, both of Hermitage; father, Ronald P. Connelly and wife Ava of Hixson; mother, Emily Sweeden Sammons and husband Bill of Oak Ridge; stepfather, Jim “Bo” Moore and wife Shirley of Knoxville; brothers, David Bryan Connelly and Matthew Nicholas Moore and wife Tiffany, all of Oak Ridge; sister, Tisha Valdez and husband Julio of Oak Ridge; stepsister, Amy Sammons-Boles of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Mary Connelly of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Mia Bratcher and Jay Bratcher; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glen and Glenna Wright, sister-in-law, Crystal Elaine Daugherty and husband Scott, brother-in-law, Glen Wright Jr. and his fiancé, Stephany Burns, all of Clinton; Richard Gardner of Knoxville, his life-long friend and brother-at-heart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 5–7 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 140 S. Jefferson Circle in Oak Ridge. The funeral followed at 7 p.m. with Bishop Eric Tobler, his childhood friend, officiating. A graveside service was held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
