Obituary: Wanda Bowman Hagood

Wanda Bowman Hagood, age 89, formerly of Oak Ridge, and a resident of The Bridge of Rockwood, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Roane Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1924, in Persia, Tenn., the daughter of David W. and Leona Orr Bowman.

Mrs. Hagood retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems, where she worked at the Y-12 plant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert W. Hagood, and daughter, Judith Hagood Riddley.

She is survived by son, Robert Stephen Hagood and wife Andrea E. of Knoxville; brother, David H. Bowman and wife Joyce of Sheffield, Ala.; four grandchildren, Stephanie O’Dell and husband Josh, Michael Hagood and wife Andrea M., Nathan A. Hagood, and Philip M. Hagood and wife Mary; three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Benjamin, and Hallie Hagood; and special niece and nephew and their children.

Private graveside services will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
