Obituary: Leo ‘Dick’ Bell

Leo “Dick” Bell, age 74, of Andersonville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Tennova Healthcare in Powell.

Leo was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing. Dick loved his dogs, and telling stories about his younger days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bonnie Bell; sister, Betty Bailey; and daughter, Amanda Kay Bell.

Dick is survived by his wife, Brenda Bell of Andersonville; sons, Kenneth Bell and Lori Davis of Ringo, Ga., James Bell and Pam Baker of Andersonville, and Carl Bell and Sandy Jones of Andersonville; daughters, Sherry Vowell and husband Tim of Lake City, Lisa Runyon and Timmy of Andersonville, and Jennifer Smith of Decatur, Tenn.; brothers, James Bell of Andersonville and John Ray Bell and wife Pauline of Andersonville; and sisters, Geraldine Wilkerson and husband Curtis of Andersonville, Louise Grisham and husband Glenn of Andersonville, Mary Chapman and husband Dempsy of Clinton, Patricia Childress and husband Kenneth of Clinton, and Loretta Crowe of Norris. Dick also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dick’s family received his friends on Sunday, Jan. 26, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary from 6–9 p.m. Dick’s funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at Lone Mountain Baptist Church in Andersonville with Rev. Earl Johnson and Rev. Freddie Bean officiating. His interment followed at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Andersonville.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton was in charge of all arrangements.
